Needed top of the line electric dryer

This this machine is well built, very simple simple lines nice matte black finish on mine, had one malfunction already but it was quickly resolved by a local repair shop, I always believe that things break at the beginning and the end of their life so this is not an issue The dryer works very well markedly better than the one I replaced. I would recommend this dryer to anyone wanting a very high quality dependable electric dryer.

This Speed Queen dryer is built solid and works great. With all the different settings, you can dry any item perfectly. I like the steam setting to freshen up shirts. I bought this dryer only after I purchased the Speed Queen washer and found it to be the best washer I have ever owned (significantly how, it gently cleans your clothes and does NOT go off balance on the spin cycle).

I've only had my dryer for one year and it isn't working properly. I've had it repaired twice in the last few weeks and they are not able to fix it. It's doing a number of things: 1) it will run a full cycle and get to the end and the clothes will still be wet and have to be run several more cycles. 2) it runs a cycle and gets to the end and gets hung up on one minute left and will not stop running and then we'll shut down into overheating mode. I get the error signal SH.

Burns clothes

This burns your clothes. Even on low temp and extended tumble. The vent gets to hot and melts clothes. We have thrown away so many clothes that were ruined. Bought a new vent cover to replace the original that had melted clothes stuck so it. Worked for a while, but it is melting the fabric on our clothes again. For this being significantly more expensive than most dryers, it is unacceptable. I highly recommend going with a different model or brand.

Really love this dryer

I've had the dryer for about a month now and have used almost every feature. Especially like the anti static cycle for some of my clothes. My home is dry and in cold weather every thing becomes full of static. Drys well and with the steam option very few wrinkles! Thank you for a great product which will last for many years.

Disappointed in machines and company

I never give a bad review as I generally feel if nothing nice or productive to say to stay quiet but having a retail and customer service business it is crucial to take care of your customers and this did not happen, it half happened at my persistance. I was sold on its long warranty and being a strong made machine and made in WI. I am not out of warranty yet and had a failure with both washer and dryer within months. Learned that most dealers only service what they sell, didn't realize our local retail no longer services and the other local one wouldn't service and was so rude. So had to work with Speed Queen to find a service center. the tech showed up unprepared and said they don't service SQ, turns out they do but were only new to it by a couple months yet tech didn't know? Rescheduled on us 3 times and didn't fix the issue. I got the part n.c and had to hav our neighbor do the final repair. Took 3 months and to no help from SQ or their "service center". Then the dryer went out, was approved to have a local repair person sublet the repair and was emailed the directions to do so such as have him come to diagnose with their tech via phone and they would send the part (per the email), their tech had no idea this was a procedure but he was helpful and made it work. Had to pay repair person just to come out and diagnose a heating element via phone with the SQ repair person eve though he knew that was the issue before even looking but SQ wouldn't send the part with out the procedure so we obliged. So with that service call and the second to do the repair exceeded the $250 SQ will pay for sublet yet they have no service person in the area. I have paid the service tech and turned in my receipt to SP and currently still awaiting reimbursement. They were zero help or assistance with any issues and the units had failures less than a year before warranty is up so my trust that these machines will "stand the test of time" as I was told is gone, I have dealt with issues since Aug and still have not been completed. Very disappointed in the company in general.

As a Ripon College grad - I grew up knowing all about "Racy Royalty" as we called it (get it - Speed Queen), and when my brother and sister-in-law purchased theirs, I decided to follow suit. I had to chuckle because I bought the white washer as I wanted a more mechanical washer and not so much tech......but when I saw that this black dryer had that pet sensor...I was sold. Imagine when I finally got my white washer and black dryer that the delivery guys thought they had the wrong order. Nope....so my first drying of dog towels left me with so much more lint and "waste" than I have ever seen....for those of you with dogs....RUN to get this. My towels feel soft (and they are old), but they are clean and no more "doggy" odor....Thank you, Speed Queen. I may have paid more for this, but it has been worth it for sure!!

One suggestion is to change the lint area a bit. If you don't clean it before you take out the clothes, the clothes could get some lint on them. That is the ONLY thing I would change and it is not a big deal or a deal breaker!

My washer and Dryer were delivered and in less than 12 hours the Dryer broke! I had the service repair guy out taking the brand new dyer apart and fixing it. I was so annoyed. It still isn't right... It's loud and the auto dry does not work, even when I have it on Dry the load isn't dry!!! I also purshcased the additional steam option and that wasn't hooked up properly at first but it works now. There are also marks on the inside drum of the dyer that are in the actual metal and look bad. Just not impressed or a good way to start off with my first Speed Queen purchase.

This dryer is excellent. I have only had one problem and that was learning to adjust the drying time because my clothes were not getting completely dry. I just have to allow a little longer drying time than what I was accustomed to using. Not really a big problem. So far this is a wonderful product that I hope will last for many years to come.

Have used it for over a year. Overall the machine works very well, however, a lot of lint accumulates inside the dryer and the dryer takes longer and longer to work. We regularly need to clean the lint within. The way the lint catching net is put, it can allow a lot of lint to pass inside the dryer. But if we clean the lint, the dryer works very well.

Love my washer and dryer and DT Mccalls is a great retailer. My only proble was teh dryer was leaving black marks on my white clothes. DT Mcalls came out and said the black liner and filter cover paint was coming off in the heat and causing the problem and they have ordered a white one from Speed Queen to replace it. I wonder why you do not use white ones from the beginning and save the service calls.

I really wanted something that would last me years, so I really did my homework on washers and dryers. I'd heard about the Speed Queen brand before so I specifically started there. I am SO happy with the dryer, my last one would take at least 2 hours to dry my clothes. What I most love about this one is the lint trap, it's not a "black hole" where the lint falls and you never see it again. I love that it's easy to clean out and things don't fall to the unknown. I also love that I can choose the heat settings for more delicate items I might not want to dry with higher heat. The higher price is so worth it for this machine!

Poor washing results and burnt clothes

I have owned my product less than a month and have not been able to find the right combinations of soap and process to get good results out of the washing machine even following the instructions in the user manual does not produce good results and I've had to have a service call on the drying machine as the delicate cycle burns clothes.

Lots of features on this dryer- and I'm still getting familiar with it! I have the cold water supply hose hooked up but have yet to use the sanitize/steam feature! I'm still figuring out how to dry clothes to dry and not damp. But yeah this is a nice dryer, glad about this purchase. My last dryer was 29 yrs old, I had it for 23 yrs, so quite the change with all the bells & whistles!

Speed Queen pair replaced my 1978 Maytag pair

These new laundry machines have a hard act to follow. I am getting used to all the new tech and the machines have a much better capacity and can get my chores done quickly. I dont expect they will last as long as the Maytags, but they seem efficient and VERY quiet. Since I am 87, I hope they outlast me.

DR7 works great but has a rattling problem

The new DR7 dryer functions very well but has a rattling problem. So far the retailer that sold us the DR7 cannot identify why it rattles, or fix it. So far we are very disappointed. This new DR7 should not have been sold at a retailer in this condition. We have a TR7 washer and it is absolutely wonderful. We will currently give the recommendation below of No until it is fixed.

I'm so excited I won't ever have to buy another dryer! I was extremely frustrated with having to replace my washer and dryer every 5 years due to inferior, "disposable" appliances. Speed Queen is by far the best appliance out there. I'm 100% happy!

Best machine we ever owner, we purchased a washer

After raising seven children we had wished we had a Speed Queen back then. We love this dryer and it's ability to get wrinkles out of our clothes. The stainless steel drum and bright light make life quite easier. The lint trap is up front for easy cleaning access.
