If I could give this dishwasher 0 stars, I would. I had to purchase an ADA compliant dishwasher to fit a slightly smaller than normal opening in our kitchen. This dishwasher is THE WORST! It does not dry, it does not clean, and it's loud. I have to run it at least twice a day for a family of 5 - and I'm still having to hand wash dishes several times a day. While it is slightly smaller than a normal dishwasher, the positioning of the utensil holder makes maximizing the bottom space impossible. It is the worst design I have ever seen. In addition, the cutouts that allow you to place your utensils in the holder are way too small. Half of my utensils and almost all of my kitchen knives and tools do not fit, requiring me to place them on their sides on the top rack - taking up valuable space and resulting in one side not clean. Expect to have to hand dry every single dish you take out as they are never dry. Also plan on rewashing a few things - even with pre-rinsing - as I have yet (after two months) had an entire load come out clean. This dishwasher is WAY overpriced for its performance and functionality. If I were GE, I'd be ashamed to put my company logo on this product. Complete disappointment. Run - don't walk away from this dishwasher.

I needed a shorter dishwasher to fit under my counter, so I bought this one. It looks nice and has a nice outside finish. The thing I don™™t like about it is that it doesn™™t have a drying cycle. It was over $800 so for that price it should dry dishes. I bought a $400 dishwasher 3 years ago and it dried the dishes. :(

I love the product. It seems it is built very durable with a metal inside. The issue. I am seeing is the pump is inconsistent with draining out the water. I find myself having to empty it out by using a cup and then sometimes the pump works again does a good job washing overall and cleaning the dishes.

It is a nice dishwasher but I ordered it online without physically seeing it. It is smaller than I anticipated and I would go larger next time. That said it washes well and is quiet

First, I am at fault for selecting an ADA dishwasher. It is not as deep as I need and therefore I cannot fit as much in it as I would like. Second, it does not dry very well. I have followed all the instructions (i.e., adding the drying agent, selecting sanitize, etc.) and it does not dry well, especially plastics. Also the inside of the dishwasher just stays generally wet on the inside. I am quite disappointed with the quality of this dishwasher and feel stuck.... (sad face)

This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. The cutlery holder has extremely small holes so most Silverware doesn't fit. This holder is located Directly in front of the soap dispenser so there is Always some liquid or part of the soap packet left in the dispenser. There is no heating element so You Must Be Present when the cycle is done so you can Immediatly open the door or your dishes won't be dry. The lower rack is only 1/2 usable. The left side of the lower rack doesn't hold plates so you can only wash 6. I would Not recommend this model dishwasher at all, I can't name one good thing about this model dishwasher.

Difficult to install as was replacing a 35 year old appliance. The long legs are weak and will bend unless extreme care is taken while sliding into recess, the opening in the front makes it very difficult to get my not so large arm under the front of unit to adjust height and level. Does a great job of cleaning with minimal water use and very quiet while running.

We purchased this in May from a Big Box store to replace an old one (not GE). The dishwasher works well in cleaning and is fairly quiet. The layout of the main basket is what I consider not great. The main complaint is with the utensil basket. It is different from all others I've seen or used. It is too small and the space it is supposed to be in blocks other slots for smaller dishes. Shifting it forward of its intended position leaves is loose, attached to only one post that holds it in position. If there was a better version, I would buy it. The quality of the unit remains to be seen.
I'll give it a qualified YES for recommendation.
All of our major kitchen appliances are GE. Only our microwave is not due to time frame to get a GE.

Although it is a quieter model, if you don't open the door right after drying then all your dishes stay wet due to the moisture inside and because the panels are inside and it does not prompt you when finished makes it difficult to know when to open the door, wich also has to stay open after putting dishes away to dry the inside-the design inside is odd too, not enough silverware space and the basket is poorly made

After having a basic dishwasher for a long time, I thought we needed to upgrade. The dishwasher is not as quite as I thought it would be. Figuring out what I needed to do to make sure the dishes came out dry was difficult. The Dish racks are not customer friendly. The rack were not designed for pots and pans. The silverware holder does not stay in place. I had to hook it to one of the glass holders. After all of the above I got it to where the dishwasher is usable, but definitely not worth the price

First of all, this dishwasher cleans beautifully and is really quiet. I can™™t stress enough though how disappointed I am with the bottom rack design. Poor layout for stacking dishes, difficult to push in and out (wheels catch door and throws rack out of alignment) and the silverware basket continues to fall over when rack is moved. I purchased the unit from Lowes and ordered it sight unseen. I assumed rack would be similar to other GE dishwashers I have owned but unfortunately very different. The lower rack is borderline unusable. The exceptional cleaning performance brought my rating up to a 3.

I was so looking forward to getting this new dishwasher but it is a disappointment. I have to wash the dishes before loading or else it doesn™™t even touch the left-on food. There™™s no dry cycle so everything is soaked when it™™s finished and I have to towel dry. It is quiet and pretty but what good is that if my dishes are still dirty? Disappointing. We paid a lot of money and feel cheated.

I never thought that a $900 dishwasher would not have a drying cycle. My fault for not researching all of the features. We needed an ADA compliant product and the choices were very limited. I am really not sure why the price on this one was $500 more than another style that had the dry cycle. I will make sure when I buy a $75000 vehicle to double check that it has air conditioning and power windows. Not at all impressed. Running it is very inconvenient. I used to run my old one before going to bed at night and then empty it in the morning or if we were going away for the weekend, run it right before leaving. Now I need to run it early enough so I can open the door as soon as it is finished. Not sure who designed this.

This is our 2nd GE dishwasher. We were somewhat satisfied with the performance and durability of the previous model. GDT226SGLBB is a great disappointment. The posts in the lower rack on the left side are at about a 45 degree angle to the center making it impossible to face dishes of any size to the center. Yet, the Owner's Manual clearly states that the soiled side of a dish should face center. The Silverware Basket is made of weak and thin plastic. The Topper easily separates from the basket spilling silverware into the dishwasher or onto countertop. Even worse than this, the basket does not rest securely at any location in the lower rack, so it can move freely on the lower rack, flip and spill silverware into into bottom of dishwasher. The Indicator Lights for "Clean" and "Sanitized" are located at the top of the dishwasher door, and are not visible when door is closed. You need to bend down and look between the countertop and top of the door to see if the "Clean" light is on and the cycle is complete. The engineering and design of this appliance is disgraceful. I urge GE to redesign the Lower Rack and Silverware Basket, and provide free upgrades to all purchasers of the appliance.
